In this deck, you will learn how to talk about the future in Dutch using the verb 'zullen'. While you may already know how to make collaborative suggestions like 'shall we', 'zullen' is also used to make predictions and give firm promises. You will learn its full conjugation across all persons and how to build natural future sentences.
Lesson#2
To make a firm promise in Dutch, use 'ik zal' followed by the main action verb at the very end of the sentence. For example, 'Ik zal je morgen bellen' means 'I will call you tomorrow'. If you want to say you will arrange something tonight, you say 'Ik zal het vanavond voor je regelen'.

In formal questions, inversion puts the verb first: 'Wanneer zult u vertrekken?' means 'When will you depart?'.
