Let's start with the vowels. Italian has five pure, crisp vowel sounds, which are much more consistent than in English. A is 'ah' like in 'father' and can be heard in the Italian word for house: casa. E is 'eh' like in 'bed', and can be heard in the Italian word for good: bene. Let's try these.
