Welcome to this deck on the French near future tense, also known as 'le futur proche'. This tense is extremely common in spoken French and is used to talk about things you are going to do very soon. By the end of this deck, you'll be able to talk about your immediate plans and intentions.

The structure of the near future tense is simple. You take the verb 'aller', which means 'to go', and conjugate it in the present tense. Then, you add the main verb in its infinitive form, which is the basic 'to do' form of the verb. For example, 'Je vais manger' literally means 'I go to eat', but we translate it as 'I am going to eat'.
