Lesson#2
The infinitive is the base form of a verb that you find in a dictionary. In Swedish, most infinitives end in the letter A. For example, 'sova' means 'to sleep', 'jobba' means 'to work', and 'träna' means 'to train'. When you place an infinitive after a helper verb like 'vill', meaning 'want to', you use the bare verb without any extra words.

Key examples are short verbs like 'bo' for 'to live', 'gå' for 'to go' or 'to walk', 'stå' for 'to stand', and 'se' for 'to see'. Just like other infinitives, these follow helper verbs like 'kan', meaning 'can'.
