Lesson#1
Welcome to this deck on Life in Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1939. Having established a dictatorship, Hitler's next goal was to create a 'Volksgemeinschaft' – a national community based on Nazi ideals. In this deck, we'll explore how the Nazis tried to shape every aspect of life, from the family and the workplace to education. We will examine their policies towards women and young people, their economic plans to tackle unemployment, and their brutal persecution of minorities, which was central to their vision for Germany.
Lesson#2
The Nazi view of women was traditional and centred on their role as mothers. The ideal German woman was expected to stay at home, raise a large family, and support her husband. This vision was summed up in the slogan 'Kinder, Küche, Kirche'. For your exam, understanding this ideology is key to explaining Nazi policies on marriage, family, and employment.
