Lesson#1
In Italian, when you use a modal verb like 'dovere' (to have to) or 'volere' (to want) with an infinitive, you have two options for placing an object pronoun.
Lesson#2
The first option is to place the pronoun before the conjugated modal verb. For example, to say 'I have to buy it', referring to 'il libro' (the book), you can say 'Lo devo comprare'.
Quiz#3
Say 'I have to buy it' in Italian. Use a masculine pronoun before the main verb.

Lo devo comprare.

Lesson#4
The second option is to attach the pronoun directly to the end of the infinitive. To do this, you drop the final 'e' of the infinitive. So, 'comprare' becomes 'comprar', and you add 'lo' to get 'comprarlo'. The full sentence is 'Devo comprarlo'.
Quiz#5
Say 'I have to buy it' in Italian. Attach a masculine pronoun to the infinitive.

Devo comprarlo.

Lesson#6
Let's see another example with 'volere' (to want) and a feminine pronoun 'la'. To say 'I want to see her', you can either say 'La voglio vedere' or 'Voglio vederla'.
