When talking about what you did yesterday or over the weekend, you will need a few key irregular verbs in the past tense. In Brazilian Portuguese, the verbs for going, being, doing, and having have special forms. In this deck, you will learn the singular past forms of these core verbs to talk naturally about your past activities.

The verbs 'ir', meaning to go, and 'ser', meaning to be, share the exact same forms in the past. For 'eu', the form is 'fui'. So, 'eu fui' can mean 'I went' or 'I was'. For example, 'eu fui à praia' means 'I went to the beach'.
