In Russian, deciding how to talk about the future depends on whether you view an action as an ongoing process or as a completed result. When focusing on duration, continuous progress, or repeated habits, you use the compound imperfective future with the verb 'быть'. When promising a single finished outcome, reaching a deadline, or making a firm decision, you use the simple perfective future.
Lesson#2
Use the compound imperfective future when an action will be in progress over an extended period. Time phrases like 'весь вечер' meaning all evening, or 'долго' meaning for a long time, signal this continuous process. For example, 'Завтра вечером я буду писать отчёт' means 'Tomorrow evening I will be writing a report'.
