Lesson#1
In Swedish, most adjectives compare regularly with the endings A R E and A S T. However, a small group of very common adjectives changes the stem vowel instead and adds R E and S T. In this deck, you'll learn this closed group of vowel-shifting adjectives so you can compare people and things naturally.
Lesson#2
The adjective 'ung' means young. When comparing, its vowel changes from U to Y, taking the comparative ending R E. 'Yngre' means younger. For example, 'Hon är yngre än sin syster' means 'She is younger than her sister'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Swedish: 'She is younger than her sister.'

Lesson#4
To say 'youngest', add S T to the same mutated stem to get 'yngst'. In Swedish, when the superlative comes after the verb without a noun, you do not use an article. For example, 'Vem är yngst i familjen?' means 'Who is youngest in the family?'.

Lesson#6
The adjective 'lång' means tall when describing people, and long when describing objects or distances. Its vowel changes from Å to Ä in the comparative, giving 'längre'. For example, 'Min bror är längre än jag' means 'My brother is taller than me'.
