A dynamic, low-angle photograph of a person mid-stride, running urgently along a dimly lit train platform towards a departing classic Russian train. The platform is wet from recent rain, reflecting the warm glow of the train's interior lights and the station architecture, composed for a 3:2 landscape frame.

Lesson#1
You already know how to talk about walking and riding using pairs like идти and ходить, or ехать and ездить. Russian applies this exact same logic to other forms of movement: running, flying, swimming, carrying, and transporting. In each pair, one verb describes motion in a single direction underway right now, while the other describes repeated trips, regular habits, or general ability.
Lesson#2
To describe running in a single direction right now, use the verb бежать. For 'I run', say я бегу. For 'you run' informally, say ты бежишь. For 'he runs', use он бежит, and for 'they run', say они бегут. 'Куда ты бежишь?' means 'Where are you running?'.
Quiz#3
Speaking to a friend, translate into Russian: 'Where are you running?'

Куда ты бежишь?

Quiz#4
Translate into Russian: 'I am running to the railway station.'

Я бегу на вокзал

Lesson#5
The plural forms of бежать are мы бежим for 'we run' and вы бежите for 'you run'. In the past tense, use бежал for a masculine subject and бежала for a feminine subject. 'Мы бежим на поезд' means 'We are running to the train'.
Quiz#6
Translate into Russian: 'We are running to the train.'

Мы бежим на поезд
