Lesson#1
In Portuguese, making plans for upcoming events often depends on when or if something happens. To express this, spoken Brazilian Portuguese uses the future subjunctive after trigger words like 'quando', meaning when, and 'se', meaning if. For regular verbs with conversational pronouns like 'você' and 'a gente', the form is wonderfully simple.
Lesson#2
For regular verbs ending in 'A R', the singular future subjunctive form matches the infinitive exactly. After 'quando', 'você chegar' means 'you arrive' referring to the future. To make a plan, link it directly to a main clause, as in 'quando você chegar em casa, me ligue', which means 'when you arrive home, call me'.
Quiz#3
Speaking to a friend, translate into Portuguese: 'When you arrive home, call me.'

Quando você chegar em casa, me ligue

Quiz#4
Translate into Portuguese: 'When she speaks with him, let me know.'

Quando ela falar com ele, me avise

Lesson#5
The trigger 'se' means 'if'. Just like with 'quando', regular verbs in the future subjunctive keep their infinitive form for 'você', 'ele', 'ela', and 'a gente'. For example, 'se você precisar' means 'if you need'.
Quiz#6
Speaking to a friend, translate into Portuguese: 'If you need help, call me.'

Se você precisar de ajuda, me ligue
