Let's start with formal time. It's like a digital clock. You say the hour, then the word 'Uhr', which means 'o'clock', and then the minutes. For example, 10:20 is 'zehn Uhr zwanzig'.

There's one small exception for one o'clock. The number 'eins' for one changes to 'ein' when telling the time. So, one o'clock is 'ein Uhr'.
