Lesson#1
In this deck, you'll learn how to tell the time in German. We'll cover both the formal way, used for official appointments and timetables, and the informal, everyday way you'll hear in conversation.
Lesson#2
Let's start with formal time. It's like a digital clock. You say the hour, then the word 'Uhr', which means 'o'clock', and then the minutes. For example, 10:20 is 'zehn Uhr zwanzig'.
Lesson#3
There's one small exception for one o'clock. The number 'eins' for one changes to 'ein' when telling the time. So, one o'clock is 'ein Uhr'.
Quiz#4
How do you say 'one o'clock' in German?

ein Uhr

Quiz#5
How do you say 'two o'clock' in German?

zwei Uhr

Lesson#6
To state what time it is, you can start with the phrase 'Es ist', which means 'It is'. For example, 'Es ist zehn Uhr zwanzig'.
