A close-up, low-angle shot of a heavy, ornate wooden door with peeling paint and intricate carvings, set in a weathered stone archway of an old Russian building. The door is slightly ajar, revealing only a sliver of deep shadow and suggesting an unseen presence beyond, bathed in soft, diffused light.

Lesson#1
In Russian, when you refer to an unidentified person, object, or place, you attach a special suffix to a question word. Adding either the ending то or нибудь lets you distinguish between a real, specific entity that you cannot identify, and an open, hypothetical choice where anyone or anything will do. This deck teaches you how to use and contrast both endings naturally in conversation.
Lesson#2
The suffix то refers to a real, specific entity that is unknown or unidentifiable to you at the moment of speaking. For people, combining кто with то gives кто-то, which means someone. For things, combining что with то gives что-то, which means something. For example, Кто-то пришёл means Someone arrived.
