Lesson#1
Once the bidding is over and the opening lead is made, one player becomes the 'declarer'. Their job is to play both their own hand and their partner's hand, which is placed face-up on the table as the 'dummy'. This deck covers the fundamental techniques for succeeding as declarer.
Lesson#2
The very first thing a declarer must do, before playing a single card from the dummy, is to stop and make a plan. A good plan starts with assessing your tricks. There are two ways to do this: counting your winners, or counting your losers.
Quiz#3
What is the first and most important thing a declarer should do after seeing the dummy and the opening lead?

Make a plan

Lesson#4
Counting winners involves looking at your combined hands and counting the tricks you are certain to win, like Aces and Kings. This method is most useful in no-trump contracts. Counting losers involves counting the tricks you expect to lose in each suit. This is generally the better method for suit contracts.
Quiz#5
What are the two primary methods for making a plan as declarer?

Counting winners and counting losers

Quiz#6
In a no-trump contract, which planning method is generally more effective?

Counting winners
