Hi, welcome to Auracle! My name's Dara, and I'm the founder of Auracle. To help get you started, I've created this deck which explains how to use the platform well. I'll be honest, Auracle has a little bit of a learning curve, especially if you're learning a brand new language with it. But once you've learned to use it properly, you'll be a pro at what is, in my opinion, the most powerful learning tool ever created. You’ll be able to learn pretty much anything, anywhere, without taking any time out of your usual schedule.

So let's start with understanding why Auracle is such a game changer. The key idea behind Auracle is that it allows you to learn anything, deeply, while on the move: working, driving, walking, exercising, cooking, or cleaning. Or while you're doing anything that doesn't require your full attention. This means that your learning has now broken free of its paper or screen based limits and now can be blended with your every day routine. For people like me, who always struggled to focus with traditional forms of learning, that's a game-changer. I'm also now a parent, and trying to find time for learning between parenting, the pre-school run, work, cooking, and my social life was a non-starter, before Auracle. I've now completed my daily study routine before I even sit down at my desk in the morning: while making breakfast and driving back from the pre-school. If I'd had Auracle when I was at school or university, life would have been so easy!

But "wait", you might say, "what’s the difference between Auracle and a podcast or an audiobook. I've been learning for years from audio!" Well, here's where the magic really comes in. Auracle pairs audio with a learning system called 'Spaced repetition'. Rather than just teaching you information in audio lesson cards, like this one, Auracle uses quiz cards which ask you questions. Those questions are then repeated at increasing intervals, to guarantee that you never forget the answer. So, rather than just passive listening like with audiobooks and podcasts, Auracle uses active recall to ensure deep learning, permanent retention, and fast recall of everything you learn. Let's try a quiz card now. If you don't know the answer, just say "Pass please", and Auracle will tell you what the answer is.

Well done! Those are your first quiz cards in Auracle and the start of your learning journey. Here's how the spaced repetition system will ensure you never forget that answer. In one minute, Auracle will ask you that question again. If you get it right, it will ask you it again after 5 minutes. If you get that repetition right, the card has been "learned" but we don't stop there! We'll ask you the same question again tomorrow. If you get that right, we'll ask you again 4 days later, then 10 days later, then 25 days later, then 63 days later, and so on. Very quickly the space or intervals between repetitions will get very long, but the system will always bring them back eventually, just before you're likely to forget the answer. If at any point you do forget the answer, saying "pass please" will reset the card completely, and Auracle will re-teach you that information.
