Lesson#1
To make your spoken Spanish sound more natural, you need to connect your ideas smoothly. Instead of just listing short sentences, you can use connector words. This deck will teach you the most common ones for adding ideas, showing contrast, giving reasons, and describing a sequence of events.
Lesson#2
You already know 'y' means 'and'. But what if the next word starts with an 'i' or 'hi' sound? To avoid the two sounds clashing, 'y' changes to 'e'. For example, 'padre y hijo' becomes 'padre e hijo'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Spanish: 'Spain and Italy'.

España e Italia

Quiz#4
Translate into Spanish: 'fathers and sons'.

padres e hijos

Lesson#5
The same rule applies to 'o', meaning 'or'. If the next word begins with an 'o' or 'ho' sound, 'o' changes to 'u'. For instance, instead of 'siete o ocho', you say 'siete u ocho'.
Quiz#6
Translate into Spanish: 'seven or eight'.

siete u ocho
