Let's move beyond basic questions and learn some more polite and formal ways to ask for information in French. This will help you sound more natural and sophisticated in conversations, especially with people you don't know well.
Lesson#2
To ask a question indirectly and politely, you can start with a phrase like 'Je voudrais savoir...' which means 'I would like to know...'. After this phrase, you add your question word, like 'où', 'quand', or 'comment', followed by a normal sentence. For example, 'Je voudrais savoir où se trouve la gare.'

Lesson#4
Another very useful phrase for polite indirect questions is 'Pourriez-vous me dire...', which means 'Could you tell me...'. Just like with 'Je voudrais savoir', you follow it with a question word and a standard sentence.
