Lesson#1
Most Dutch verbs use hebben to form the spoken present perfect tense. However, verbs that express directional movement with a destination, a change of state, and the verb to be itself use zijn instead. In this deck, you will learn how to form past sentences with these essential verbs.
Lesson#2
The verb gaan expresses movement towards a destination, so it takes zijn in the perfect tense. Its past participle is gegaan. Combine the present tense of zijn with gegaan at the end of the clause. For example, Ik ben naar huis gegaan means I went home.
