Lesson#1
To make your Spanish sound more natural and organised, you need to connect your ideas logically. This deck will teach you a range of common connectors, moving beyond the basics like 'porque' and 'pero'.
Lesson#2
First, let's look at different ways to talk about the cause or reason for something. You already know 'porque', but we'll add 'como', 'por', and 'a causa de'.
Lesson#3
'Como' means 'as' or 'since' and is a great way to state the reason at the beginning of a sentence. For example, 'Como hacía frío, me puse un abrigo' means 'As it was cold, I put on a coat'.
Quiz#4
Translate into Spanish: 'Since I was tired, I went to bed early.'

Como estaba cansado, me acosté pronto.

Lesson#5
To say 'because of' followed by a noun, you can use 'por' or the slightly more formal 'a causa de'. For instance, 'El vuelo se canceló por la tormenta' means 'The flight was cancelled because of the storm'.
Quiz#6
Translate into Spanish: 'The match was cancelled because of the rain.'

El partido se canceló por la lluvia.
