Lesson#1
In Spanish, when you want to influence someone's actions or express a wish about what they do, you often need the subjunctive. This is for situations where one person wants, prefers, needs, or asks another person to do something.
Lesson#2
As you already know, when the same person wants, needs, or prefers to do something, Spanish uses an infinitive: ‘Quiero viajar’. Keep this familiar pattern in mind, because the structure changes when a different person carries out the second action.

However, if the subjects are different, you must use 'que' followed by the subjunctive. For example, 'Quiero que viajes' means 'I want you to travel'. The subject of 'want' is 'I', but the subject of 'travel' is 'you'. This change of subject triggers the subjunctive.
