Lesson#1
In Dutch, when you want to describe an action that is happening right now, you use a special spoken pattern: a form of the verb 'zijn', followed by 'aan het', and the infinitive at the end. This works just like the English I N G form in phrases like I am cooking. In this deck, you will learn to use this pattern smoothly across all persons.
Lesson#2
To say that you are currently doing something, use 'ik ben aan het' followed by the infinitive of the verb. For example, 'Ik ben aan het koken' means 'I am cooking'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Dutch: 'I am cooking.'

Ik ben aan het koken

Quiz#4
Translate into Dutch: 'I am working.'

Ik ben aan het werken

Quiz#5
Translate into Dutch: 'I am reading.'

Ik ben aan het lezen

Lesson#6
When speaking informally to one person, use 'je bent aan het', or invert the words for a question with 'ben je aan het'. For example, 'Wat ben je aan het doen?' means 'What are you doing?'.
