In this deck, you will learn how to express how you travel across town and country using the preposition 'на' with the prepositional case. You will master everyday types of transport, ask others how they travel, and describe your journeys in Russian.
Lesson#2
To ask someone by what transport they travel, use the phrase 'на чём?'. For regular masculine vehicles, simply add 'на' in front and change the ending to 'Е'. For example, 'на автобусе' means 'by bus', and 'на поезде' means 'by train'.

The preposition 'на' works the same way with other vehicles ending in 'Е' in the prepositional case. The feminine noun 'машина' becomes 'на машине', meaning 'by car'. The masculine noun 'трамвай' becomes 'на трамвае', meaning 'by tram', and 'троллейбус' becomes 'на троллейбусе', meaning 'by trolleybus'.
