You'll learn how to tell one person what to do using the 'tú' form, and a group of people using the 'ustedes' form. Second, you'll learn how to form the present continuous tense, which is used to talk about actions happening right now, like saying 'I am speaking'.

Let's start with positive commands for one person, using the 'tú' form. These are used to tell a friend or family member to do something. For most regular verbs, the rule is simple: you use the same form as the third-person singular of the present tense. For an 'ar' verb like 'hablar', the command is 'habla', which means 'speak'. For an 'er' verb like 'comer', it's 'come', meaning 'eat'. And for an 'ir' verb like 'vivir', it's 'vive', meaning 'live'.

While the regular form is easy, there are eight common verbs with irregular positive 'tú' commands that you just have to memorise. They are often very short. For example, the command for 'venir', to come, is 'ven'. For 'decir', to say, it's 'di'. For 'hacer', to do or make, it's 'haz'. And for 'ir', to go, it's 've'.
