Lesson#2
Let us begin with the title and opening line of the song. Une dernière danse translates to one last dance. The song opens with the poetic line, Ô ma douce souffrance, which means Oh my sweet suffering. The word douce is the feminine form of doux, meaning sweet or gentle. Indila then asks, Pourquoi s'acharner, meaning Why persist relentlessly. The reflexive verb s'acharner means to persist relentlessly or fight stubbornly.

Lesson#6
In the first verse, Indila sings that she feels insignificant, saying, Je n'suis qu'un être sans importance. The phrase sans importance means without importance or unimportant. Then she drops into common Parisian slang with the word paro. Paro is a shortened colloquial form of paranoïaque, meaning paranoid, anxious, or stressed out. She wanders through the subway, singing, je déambule seule dans l'métro. The verb déambuler means to wander or stroll, while seule means alone for a female speaker.
