Lesson#1
In Brazilian Portuguese, when you want to talk about activities you have been doing repeatedly lately, you use a special compound tense. You combine the present tense of 'ter' with a past participle. This describes recurring actions that started recently and continue right up to now.
Lesson#2
To talk about what you personally have been doing, use 'tenho' followed by a past participle. Unlike in English, where 'I have worked' can mean a completed past event, in Portuguese 'tenho trabalhado' specifically means you have been repeatedly working. For example, 'Tenho trabalhado muito' means 'I have been working a lot'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Portuguese: 'I have been working a lot.'

Tenho trabalhado muito

Quiz#4
Translate into Portuguese: 'I have been studying a lot for the exam.'

Tenho estudado bastante para a prova

Lesson#5
You will very often hear this tense paired with time adverbs like 'ultimamente', which means 'lately', or 'recentemente', which means 'recently'. For example, 'Ultimamente tenho comido muita salada' means 'Lately I have been eating a lot of salad'.
Quiz#6
Translate into Portuguese: 'Lately I have been eating a lot of salad.'

Ultimamente tenho comido muita salada
