Lesson#1
To talk about something you did recently in Italian, you often use a two-part verb. You'll use a familiar helping verb, like 'ho' or 'sono', followed by a new past form of the main verb.
Lesson#2
For many actions, the helping verb is 'avere'. For example, to say 'I worked', you use 'ho' followed by the past form of 'lavorare', which is 'lavorato'. Together, that's 'ho lavorato'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Italian: 'I worked'.

ho lavorato

Lesson#4
To say 'you worked', you simply change the helping verb to 'hai'. So, 'you worked' is 'hai lavorato'.
Quiz#5
Translate into Italian: 'You worked'.

hai lavorato

Lesson#6
This pattern works for many other common verbs. The past form of 'mangiare', to eat, is 'mangiato'. The past form of 'comprare', to buy, is 'comprato'.
