To start a biography, you can state when someone was born. Use 'Il est né' for a man, and 'Elle est née' for a woman. For example, 'Il est né en 1980' means 'He was born in 1980'.

To connect different life events and show chronological order, you can use sequencing words. You already used ‘ensuite’ as an interview follow-up. In a biography, it can also link events. Two other useful sequencing words are ‘puis’ for ‘then’ and ‘plus tard’ for ‘later’. For example, ‘Elle est née à Lyon. Puis, elle a déménagé à Paris.’
