In Russian, regular verbs follow predictable patterns to show who is performing the action. In this deck, you will learn the first conjugation pattern, also called the E conjugation. You will master three essential verbs: to read, to know, and to understand.
Lesson#2
To say what you are doing, regular first conjugation verbs take the ending Ю. For example, 'читать' means 'to read', and 'я читаю' means 'I read' or 'I am reading'. For the verb 'знать', meaning 'to know', the form is 'я знаю'. The word for a book is 'книга', which becomes 'книгу' as the object, so 'я читаю книгу' means 'I am reading a book'.
