To say that two things share the same degree of a quality, use 'lika' before the adjective and 'som' after it. For example, 'Hon är lika gammal som jag' means 'She is as old as me'. The word 'modig' means brave, so 'Han är lika modig som sin far' means 'He is as brave as his father'.

To say that two things are not equal, place 'inte' directly before 'lika'. For example, 'Det är inte lika kallt idag som igår' means 'It is not as cold today as yesterday'. The same structure applies to other qualities, such as 'Min tröja är lika varm som din jacka', which means 'My sweater is as warm as your jacket'.
