Lesson#1
Welcome to this deck on Christian Beliefs and Teachings for GCSE Religious Studies. We will explore the core ideas that form the foundation of Christianity, from the nature of God to the role of Jesus Christ in salvation. Mastering these concepts is essential for your exam, as they provide the building blocks for almost every topic in this part of the course.
Lesson#2
Let's begin with the nature of God. Christians believe in one God, who has three key qualities. The first is omnipotence. This means God is all-powerful and can do anything that is logically possible. For your exam, you can use the creation of the universe as a key example of God's omnipotence.
Quiz#3
What is the term for the belief that God is all-powerful?

omnipotence

Lesson#4
The second quality is that God is loving, or omnibenevolent. This is the belief that God is all-good and all-loving. Christians believe God's love is a perfect, unconditional love for all of creation. A key quote from the Bible that supports this is from the first letter of John, which simply states, 'God is love'.
Quiz#5
What is the term for the belief that God is all-loving?

omnibenevolence

Lesson#6
The third key quality is justice. Christians believe God is a just God, meaning he is perfectly fair and is the ultimate judge of right and wrong. This belief means that while God loves and forgives, he will also ensure that justice is done and people are held accountable for their actions.
