Lesson#1
In Dutch, when an adjective appears after a verb like 'to be', it stays completely uninflected and never adds an ending. You can also compare people and things simply by adding endings to show what is faster, colder, or the best. In this deck, you will learn how to use bare adjectives, build comparative sentences, and form superlatives.
Lesson#2
When an adjective describes a noun after the verb 'zijn', meaning 'to be', it never takes an extra ending. It stays in its basic form, whether the noun is singular or plural. For example, 'De koffie is heet' means 'The coffee is hot', and 'Het huis is groot' means 'The house is big'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Dutch: 'The coffee is hot.'

De koffie is heet

Quiz#4
Translate into Dutch: 'The house is big.'

Het huis is groot

Lesson#5
This zero-inflection rule also applies when describing plural nouns or groups of people. For example, 'De straten zijn schoon' means 'The streets are clean', and 'Wij zijn blij' means 'We are happy'.
Quiz#6
Translate into Dutch: 'The streets are clean.'

De straten zijn schoon
