The tag 'né' is the most common confirmation tag in Brazilian Portuguese. It is a quick contraction of 'não é', and works just like 'right?' or 'isn't it?' in English. For example, 'você mora aqui, né?' means 'you live here, right?'.

You can use 'né' after any observation when you expect the listener to agree. To say 'it is cold today', you say 'está frio hoje'. Adding the tag gives 'está frio hoje, né?', meaning 'it is cold today, right?'.

Lesson#6
The tag 'tá' is a short contraction of 'está bem', meaning 'okay?'. You add it to the end of a statement to confirm an arrangement or check that someone agrees. For example, 'eu trabalho agora, tá?' means 'I am working now, okay?'.
