In this deck, you will learn how to propose social outings, invite friends over, accept invitations enthusiastically, decline politely with reasons, and thank your hosts in Russian.
Lesson#2
To invite someone over or out, use the verb 'пригласить' with the person in the accusative case. To tell a friend you want to invite them over on Saturday, say 'Я хочу пригласить тебя в гости в субботу'. The phrase 'в гости' literally means 'as a guest' or 'over'.

Speaking to a friend, translate into Russian: 'I want to invite you over on Saturday.'

When inviting several people or speaking formally, use 'вас'. For celebrating a new home, the Russian noun is 'новоселье'. To say 'We invite you to a housewarming party', say 'Мы приглашаем вас на новоселье'.
