Lesson#1
In French, many verbs follow a predictable pattern. These are called regular 'E R' verbs because their infinitive form ends in E R. To use them, you just remove the 'E R' and add a new ending depending on who is doing the action. Let's see how this works.
Lesson#2
Our first verb is 'aimer', which means 'to like' or 'to love'. For 'I like', you drop the 'E R' and add an 'E'. Because 'je' and 'aime' both start with vowels, they combine to become 'j'aime'.
Quiz#3
How do you say "I like" in French?

j'aime

Lesson#4
For other singular subjects, you add different endings. For 'tu', the ending is 'E S', so 'you like' is 'tu aimes'. For 'il' and 'elle', the ending is 'E', just like for 'je'. So 'he likes' is 'il aime'.
Quiz#5
How do you say "you like" in French, using the informal 'tu'?

tu aimes

Quiz#6
How do you say "he likes" in French?

il aime
