Learn how to use Brazilian Portuguese relative superlatives with o mais de and absolute superlatives ending in íssimo to express extreme qualities.

A wide-angle, vivid photograph of Christ the Redeemer statue standing majestically above Rio de Janeiro, with the sprawling city and Guanabara Bay visible below. The scene is bathed in the warm, golden light of a dramatic sunset, casting long shadows and highlighting the statue against a vibrant sky. The image should evoke a sense of grandeur and the unique beauty of Brazil.

Lesson#1
In this deck, you will learn how to express the highest and lowest degree in Brazilian Portuguese. We will cover how to say that something is the most or least in a group, and how to express extreme qualities using special endings and words.
Lesson#2
To say that someone or something is the most within a group, use the definite article, followed by 'mais', the adjective, and the preposition 'de' or its contractions 'do' and 'da'. For example, 'o restaurante mais caro do bairro' means 'the most expensive restaurant in the neighbourhood', and 'a cidade mais populosa do Brasil' means 'the most populous city in Brazil'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Portuguese: 'This is the most expensive restaurant in the neighbourhood.'

Este é o restaurante mais caro do bairro

Quiz#4

When describing plural nouns, make the definite article, the adjective, and the preposition agree. For example, 'os quartos mais silenciosos do hotel' means 'the quietest rooms in the hotel'. You can also say 'Ele é o mais bonito do grupo' to mean 'He is the most handsome in the group'.
Quiz#6
Translate into Portuguese: 'They are the quietest rooms in the hotel.'
