La terminación E D describe un sentimiento interno que experimenta una persona. Por ejemplo, 'I am bored' significa 'Estoy aburrido'. En cambio, la terminación I N G describe la cualidad del objeto, persona o evento que causa esa emoción. Por ejemplo, 'The film is boring' significa 'La película es aburrida'.
