Lesson#1
You already know how to form the conditional tense in Spanish. Now, let's explore one of its most common uses in conversation: making you sound more polite. You can use the conditional to soften requests, give advice gently, and express your opinions without sounding too direct.
Lesson#2
To make a polite request, you can use '¿Podrías...?' followed by a verb in the infinitive. It's the equivalent of 'Could you...?' and is a softer, more considerate alternative to asking '¿Puedes...?', which means 'Can you?'. For example, '¿Podrías pasarme la sal?' means 'Could you pass me the salt?'
Quiz#3
How would you politely ask someone to open the window in Spanish?

¿Podrías abrir la ventana?

Quiz#4
Politely ask a friend to help you in Spanish.

¿Podrías ayudarme?

Lesson#5
An even more polite way to make a request is with '¿Te importaría...?' followed by an infinitive. This translates to 'Would you mind...?' and is perfect for situations where you're asking for a bigger favour or want to be extra courteous. For instance, '¿Te importaría esperar un momento?' means 'Would you mind waiting a moment?'
Quiz#6
Ask 'Would you mind closing the door?' in Spanish.

¿Te importaría cerrar la puerta?
