Lesson#1
In this deck, you'll learn how to say 'no' and 'not' in German. We'll cover how to negate actions and descriptions, how to say you don't have something, and how to correct wrong information.
Lesson#2
The most common way to make a sentence negative in German is with the word 'nicht', which means 'not'. To negate a simple statement, you usually add 'nicht' at the end. For example, 'Ich komme' means 'I am coming', and 'Ich komme nicht' means 'I am not coming'.
Quiz#3
How do you say 'I am not coming' in German?

Ich komme nicht.

Quiz#4
Translate into German: 'I don't speak.'

Ich spreche nicht.

Lesson#5
When you negate a description, like an adjective, 'nicht' comes directly before the word it negates. For example, to say something is 'not good', you would say 'nicht gut'. So, 'Das ist gut' becomes 'Das ist nicht gut'.
Quiz#6
How do you say 'That is not good' in German?

Das ist nicht gut.
