Lesson#1
Regular Dutch verbs follow a simple pattern in the present tense. By learning the verb stem and two basic endings, you can talk about everyday activities like working, living, and studying.
Lesson#2
To form the present tense for 'ik', meaning 'I', use the verb stem. For the verb 'werken', which means to work, the stem is 'werk'. 'Vandaag' means 'today'. 'Ik werk vandaag' means 'I work today'.
Quiz#3
Translate into Dutch: 'I work today.'

Ik werk vandaag

Lesson#4
When speaking to a friend with 'jij', add the letter T to the stem, giving 'werkt'. 'Jij werkt in Amsterdam' means 'You work in Amsterdam'.
Quiz#5
Speaking to a friend, translate into Dutch: 'You work in Amsterdam.'

Jij werkt in Amsterdam

Lesson#6
The formal pronoun 'u' and the third-person pronoun 'hij' also take the stem plus the letter T. 'U werkt in Amsterdam' means 'You work in Amsterdam', and 'Hij werkt vandaag' means 'He works today'.
