Lesson#1
Welcome to Part 3 of your German A1 course. In this section, you'll learn the practical language you need for everyday situations like shopping and talking about what you have. We'll focus on how to talk about what you want, have, and need, which is a key step towards having real conversations.
Lesson#2
In a sentence, the person or thing that receives the action of the verb is called the direct object. For example, in 'I buy the book', 'the book' is the direct object. In German, when a noun is a direct object, it goes into a special form called the accusative case. This often changes the article before the noun.
Lesson#3
The accusative case only changes the article for masculine nouns. The word for 'the', 'der', becomes 'den'. The articles for feminine nouns, 'die', and neuter nouns, 'das', stay the same. For example, 'Ich habe den Tisch', but 'Ich habe die Lampe' and 'Ich habe das Buch'.
Quiz#4
Translate into German: 'I have the table.'

Ich habe den Tisch.

Quiz#5
How do you say 'I am drinking the coffee' in German?

Ich trinke den Kaffee.

Quiz#6
Translate into German: 'I need the lamp.'

Ich brauche die Lampe.
