Lesson#1
In this deck, you'll learn the Dutch subject pronouns: the words for 'I', 'you', 'he', 'she', and 'they'. Dutch speech has a rhythm of its own, so many pronouns have both an emphatic stressed form and a softer everyday form. You'll also learn when to speak informally and when to show respect with formal Dutch.
Lesson#2
To say 'I' in Dutch, use 'ik'. Dutch speakers use 'ik' whenever they want to make themselves heard clearly. In fast everyday conversation, you will often hear it soften to a quick 'K' sound, but 'ik' is the standard spoken word you use.
Quiz#3
How do you say 'I' in Dutch?

Lesson#4
When talking to a friend, family member, or child, the informal word for 'you' is 'jij' or 'je'. Use 'jij' when you want to put strong emphasis on the person, like saying 'you do it'. In most everyday speech, you use the unstressed form 'je'.
