Lesson#1
So far, you've learned to ask yes or no questions by putting the verb first. To ask for specific information, like 'who', 'what', or 'where', you'll use special question words. In German, these are often called 'W-Fragen' because most of them start with the letter W.
Lesson#2
The rule for forming these questions is simple: the question word comes first, followed immediately by the verb, and then the subject. For example, to ask 'Where do you live?', you say 'Wo wohnst du?'. Notice the order: Question Word (Wo), Verb (wohnst), Subject (du).
Lesson#3
Let's start with 'wer', which means 'who'. You use it to ask about a person. For example, 'Wer ist das?' means 'Who is that?'.
Quiz#4
How do you say 'Who is that?' in German?

Wer ist das?

Lesson#5
To ask about a thing or an action, you use 'was', which means 'what'. For instance, 'Was ist das?' means 'What is that?', and 'Was machst du?' means 'What are you doing?'.
Quiz#6
How do you say 'What is that?' in German?

Was ist das?
