Welcome to this deck on Ecology, the final topic in your GCSE Combined Science Biology course. Ecology is the study of how organisms interact with each other and with their environment. We'll explore everything from individual organisms and their adaptations, to entire ecosystems and the global impact of human activity.

To understand ecology, we first need to define some key terms that describe the different levels of organisation. The largest level we'll consider is an ecosystem, which includes all the living organisms and the non-living components of an area. Within an ecosystem, we have communities, which are made up of different populations.
