Lesson#1
Arabic letters are consonants. Tiny marks above or below a letter give the short vowel. These marks are often left out in everyday print. This course uses them so you can read any word you are given.
Lesson#2
َ fatha, a short a, as in cat. بَ = ba
Lesson#3
ُ damma, a short u, as in put. بُ = bu
Lesson#4
ِ kasra, a short i, as in sit. بِ = bi
Lesson#5
ْ sukun, no vowel. The consonant closes the syllable. بَتْ = bat
Lesson#6
ّ shadda, double the consonant, then add the vowel written with it. بَّ = bba دُرَّ = durra
