Lesson#1
You already know how to say something is the best or fastest at the end of a sentence using 'het' and the ending S T. In this deck, you will learn how to put superlatives directly before a noun, like saying 'the most beautiful city' or 'my best friend'.
Lesson#2
To put a superlative directly in front of a noun, you add an E to the superlative stem. This turns the ending S T into S T E. For common nouns that take the definite article 'de', simply place 'de' before the S T E form. For example, 'de snelste trein' means 'the fastest train'.
Quiz#3
How do you say 'the fastest train' in Dutch?

de snelste trein

Quiz#4
How do you say 'the most beautiful city' in Dutch?

de mooiste stad

Lesson#5
Adjectives that end in a single vowel and consonant keep their long vowel sound when adding S T E. For example, 'hoog', meaning high, becomes 'hoogste'. 'De hoogste toren' means 'the highest tower'.
Quiz#6
How do you say 'the highest tower' in Dutch?

de hoogste toren
