Let's learn how to ask questions in French. This is a vital skill for any conversation. We'll start with the simplest way to ask a yes-or-no question, which doesn't require any new words at all.

In spoken French, you can turn a simple statement into a question just by raising the pitch of your voice at the end. For example, the statement 'Tu parles français' means 'You speak French'. By saying it with a rising intonation, it becomes a question: 'Tu parles français ?'.
