Many high frequency verbs in Dutch do not add the standard past endings. Instead, they change their core vowel sound. In this deck, you will learn the simple past forms of five essential verbs: gaan, komen, lopen, zien, and geven.
Lesson#2
The verb 'gaan' becomes 'ging' in the singular for 'ik', 'jij', and 'hij'. For plural subjects like 'wij', 'jullie', and 'zij', the form is 'gingen'. For example, 'Ik ging naar huis' means 'I went home'.
