Welcome to this deck on ecology, the study of how living things interact with each other and their environment. You will learn the key terms used to describe ecosystems, how species depend on each other for survival, and the amazing adaptations organisms have to live in their specific habitats.
Lesson#2
To understand ecology, we start with a few key definitions. An ecosystem is the largest unit, covering all the living organisms and the non-living environment in a particular area. Within that, you have a community, which is all the different species living together. Each of those species forms a population, which is all the individuals of that one species in the area. And finally, the place where an organism lives is its habitat.
