Lesson#1
In German, some prepositions can be followed by either the dative or the accusative case. These are called two-way prepositions. The case you use depends on whether you are talking about a fixed location or a direction of movement.
Lesson#2
To describe a static location, you ask the question 'Wo?', meaning 'where?'. After a two-way preposition, the answer will always use the dative case. For example, 'Das Buch ist auf dem Tisch' means 'The book is on the table'.
Quiz#3
How do you say 'The key is in the car' in German?

Der Schlüssel ist im Auto.

Quiz#4
Translate into German: 'I am standing in front of the house.'

Ich stehe vor dem Haus.

Lesson#5
To describe movement towards a destination, you ask the question 'Wohin?', meaning 'where to?'. After a two-way preposition, the answer will use the accusative case. For example, 'Ich lege das Buch auf den Tisch' means 'I am putting the book onto the table'.
Quiz#6
How do you say 'I am going into the car' in German?

Ich gehe ins Auto.
