Let's begin with the simplest rules. Imagine a single point. If you draw several lines coming out from this point, you create several angles around it. These angles make a full circle, or a full turn.

Now, picture a perfectly straight line. If you draw another line coming out from any point on that straight line, you create two angles that sit next to each other. Together, they make up the straight line.

Another important rule occurs when two straight lines cross each other, forming an 'X' shape. This creates four angles. The angles that are directly opposite each other in the 'X' are always equal.
